Extremely rare model of axe made for the German Army.

Several different companies produced this item; NSN 5110-12-120-0729 ; Hatchet, Claw, Ax, Single Bit, but you will probably not see another of this model made by J. Wiebel Haus & Company of Meschede, West Germany. They were in business from 1911-1986. I estimate this axe to be from the 1950s, post WWII. when there was an East and West Germany.

Axe head is in good condition with heavy stamps of the makers marks.

12\" original wooden handle is in decent condition, and has original paint OD Green and black of the Bundeswehr.
