This unusual accessory wasn\'t listed in most Singer manuals as a fashion aid, and is hard to find!The item featured in this sale is the hard-to-find gauge presser foot, complete with all 5 gauges. When all 5 gauges are included, this attachment goes from hard to find, to VERY RARE! According to Singer, \"smart, even stitching accents are effectively placed with the SINGER Gauge Presser Foot.\" It certainly sounds like this attachment will achieve some very nice decorative work. All the pieces in this sale are in good to very good used condition, and should give many more years of service.This attachment is stamped \"SIMANCO\" and \"U.S.A.\" and with its part # 121717 on the back side of the shank. It fits all Singer low shank vintage sewing machines, such as the class 15, most 66s, class 99, 201, 319, and many others, as well as the beloved Featherweights 221 and 222. This foot is in what I call the \"half-blackside\" finish, with the moving piece on the front in blackside, which came out during WWII when chrome went for military use. The \"silver\"/chrome gauges came with this foot originally, and form this complete outfit.

Also included in this sale will be a copy of the page from the Singer\'s teacher textbook of Machine Sewing which covers the use of this attachment, along with a copy of the original Singer instruction card on which these feet were sold, which has slightly different wording from the textbook information. The seventh picture shows all the pieces on top of the page in the book.Finally, I\'ve added an attaching screw which I think gives a superior hold. Singer never issued an attaching screw, and says that this foot replaces the regular presser foot, meaning that the regular thumb screw would hold it in place. However, when checking, I found the regular thumb screw to be a tight, awkward fit, while the screw featured here will be easier to attach, and can be tightened securely with a screwdriver. Further, this is an authentic Singer attaching screw, originally provided with their Buttonholers, and can be used with other attachments as well. The eighth picture shows this screw holding the foot in place on my Featherweight 222, which of course is NOT included in this sale. The last picture shows the screw by itself.
