Here\'s a presser foot for your vintage slant shank Singer which is hard to find, and GREAT for creating professional-looking trim!According to Singer\'s 1950 textbook for teachers, Machine Sewing, this attachment \"is very useful for braiding designs, where the stitching should not show...The needle catches the under side of the braid, thus permitting the outline to be followed while all stitches are concealed.\" This foot was available in 3 sizes, and this version is the 5/32 inch size. This foot is stamped with its part number 160690 and \"SIMANCO U.S.A.\" on the inside (back) of the upper section of the shank. On the lower section of the back of the shank is stamped the fraction 5/32.This item is in VERY GOOD used condition, with no evidence of rust or corrosion, and ready to give many more years of use. It shows very little sign of having been used, with all the identifying marks sharply stamped. The screw on the front loosens, allowing the spring to move to one side as intended.
