This rare flange hemmer would be great for the collector, or the sewer who works with narrow hems.The item featured in this sale is the hard-to-find presser foot which is used for making a 1/16 inch hem. According to Singer\'s 1950 teacher\'s textbook of Machine Sewing, this style hemmer \"is used for simulating a rolled hem on fine materials such as georgette, chiffon, etc, making it unnecessary to use paper against the feed dog.\" It certainly sounds like this attachment will achieve some very nice finishes, especially with a little practice! This attachment is stamped with its part # 36333, as well as \"SIMANCO U.S.A.\" on the side of the shank. The fraction 1/16 is stamped on the top of the foot, near the needle hole, confirming the hem it is designed to create. It fits all Singer low shank vintage sewing machines, such as the class 15, 99, 201, 306, 206, 237, and many others, as well as the beloved Featherweights 221 and 222. It is in very good used condition, with only a few wear marks, especially on the bottom surface - not bad for its age! It\'s all ready to jump into your next project, and give many more years of use. Also included in this sale will be a COPY of the sections from the Singer\'s teacher textbook of Machine Sewing which covers the use of this attachment. These give detailed information on how to get started practicing with your \"new\" accessory, with illustrations.
