Offered in this listing is an authentic 1950\'s vintage German made Bild Lilli doll that was purchased by my late father-in-law during one of his trips to Germany for his work. He was interested in languages so he kept the original paperwork for the doll because it was written in German. (New note - A helpful er wrote to inform the that the paperwork is a \"newspaper\" which was included with the doll for Bild Lilli to read) My husband inherited this doll and he gave it to me for my doll collection. For years we thought it was an original Barbie but wondered about the see-through bodice of her lovely dress. Somehow, over time, we realized it was a Bild Lilli, the prototype for Barbie. The paperwork authenticates the doll as an original Bild Lilli, as well as the type of snap used on the doll\'s clothing. The snaps are PRYM snaps, identified as such by the heart shaped design engraved in the bottom portion of the snap. the doll is in near-mint condition, there is only one small dark mark on both ankles, please see close-up photo provided. These marks might clean off, but I did not dare attempt to clean.
IMPORTANT NEW NOTE - a viewer with a keen eye has called my attention to a small area of missing paint (black eye liner) over the doll\'s right eye, please use zoom feature to view close-up. I felt the area and it is slightly rough. the doll comes to you from a smoke and perfume free home, so no unwanted smells will arrive with the doll. I will package her with love and care to insure she arrives at her final destination unharmed. the doll will be shipped via Priority Mail, USPS, very well protected in a large flat-rate box.
