The VV 2-55 portable was introduced in 1929 as a mid-priced model. It used an Orthophonic soundbox and a single spring motor. The 2-55 was a very strong seller from the start, and production was continued into the 1930\'s after RCA bought Victor. This little machine was capable of remarkable reproduction. It was so popular, that it became one of Victor\'s \"Top 5\" sellers of all time. The original 1929 selling price of the VV 2-55 was $35.00. No detailed breakdown of serial numbers or manufacturing dates is yet compiled.Machine is in working order and plays very well and has great sound for and old windup portable. Case is in very good condition with no tears in covering only a separation at the meeting points on two corners as shown in picture 10. Shipping will be free to the lower 48 no international shipments and if you happen to pickup I will reimburse $35.00.
