ROMANTIC ANTIQUE 19th c VICTORIAN NEEDLEPOINT TAPESTRY PILLOW FIGURAL :

You are looking at a 19th century hand stitched wool needlepoint and petitpoint tapestry made into a 21st century pillow. The needlepoint features a man holding what appears to me like a bouquet of flowers. He is in the middle of a cartouche. There is a big bow on top and flowers on the bottom. The colors are pretty neutral and the background color is burgundy wine. There are some missing stitches that are virtually unnoticeable and a repair that looks pretty good on the mans hair. The needlepoint area measures approx. 15” x 17”.

Around the needlepoint a I used an antique gold metallic vestment trim (NOS). The fabric on the front of the pillow is stripe silk. On the back I used a burgundy chenille. The pillow is finished off with a multi color (burgundy, pale pink and beige) balloon tassel trim.

This one of a kind pillow measures approx. 23”x 23”. There is a zipper closure for your convenience and a down and feather insert for a plush look and feel. The entire pillow is lined for extra durability. This unique pillow is in newly created condition combining the old (needlepoint and metallic trim) with the new (all the other elements). It comes from a smoke free home.
