Wonderfulantique 19th century American hooked shirred rug on burlap, c 1890. Oval shape, floral design - lush roses in the center, with radiating lines in black. Very well made, lovely texture. This rug is striking and lovely!
It measures approx 28 x 48 inches across. Photos taken in bright afternoon light.
A bit worn and well-loved, still looks nice. Fraying at edges, some color bleed from the center, some loose loops. No repairs. This rug came out of a VERY dusty old attic, and really needs cleaning.
