The plate is 9 \" across , ivory in colour and trimmed in gold with the New Brunswick coat of arms on the bottom and GR VI on the top , the back of the plate is marked Royal Doulton made in England and is marked with the following - \" This is an original piece of luncheon service supplier by the China Chest, Saint Andrews New Brunswick, for the luncheon tendered by the Province of New Brunswick, June 13, 1939, to their Majesties King George VI & Queen Elizabeth on the occasion of the first visit to Canada of Reigning British Sovereigns.\" there is tape on the plate that Says - \" The King ate from this plate - given to me by Major T.C. Barker, Official secretary to his Honour The Lieutenant Governor \".
