Description:ROYAL WORCESTER \'HADLEY WARE\' miniature vase with handsomedecorative shoulder encasing hand painted panels of colorful roses in a stylenow famously known as ‘Hadley Roses’.

Fully marked to base with impressed RoyalWorcester and Hadleyware marks in green (please see detail photos).

Dating: The piece bears markings that date it to1905/06 as Royal Worcester purchased the Hadley factory in June 1905 and usedthe Royal Worcester mark with additional word Hadleyware’ until Mar. 1906.

James Hadley1837-1903was Royal Worcester\'s principal designer in the late 19thcentury, and was responsible for many of their most famous figurines and also,their style of their floral painting, known as Hadley Roses, the basic style ofthis vase. In 1875 he set up his ownstudio working as a designer for Royal Worcester. His contract was canceled by them in 1895 asthere was a slump in the luxury market. Heset up his own production in 1897.
