The icon depicts ChristPantocrator (Ruler of the World).

This modern Russian Orthodox icon was painted by a modern professionalchurch artist at the Russian town Yaroslavl (notfar from Moscow)that is one of the main and old centers of the Russian icon painting.

The icon was painted on a very old (at least 19 c.) wooden board coveredwith levkas (gesso, special priming) with egg tempera. The style is traditionaland strictly follows antique canons of the icon painting.

There are twooriginal wooden wedges at the back to prevent the board from wrapping.

Size = 12.4x10x0.8 (31.5x25.5x2 cm). Weight = 790 gr.
