Here is an authentic and fine looking from about 1960, ZUNI RAIN PRIEST FORM THE NORTH AKA a , IN EXCELLENT CONDITION - A WELL CARVED / PAINTED NATIVE AMERICAN COTTONWOOD KATSINA CARVING. A very collectible and rare Zuni Katsina Doll, which is made from solid Cottonwood. This Kachina was made by an expert ZUNI maker, and is is part of an estate collection of Kachinas from a Santa Barbara Estate.

This is afine looking ZUNI Kachina, with great overall workmanship, original paints and accoutrements (i.e. real bone pieces in hand), and expert overall carving. He is made from solid Cottonwood Tree Wood standing, at about 10 1/2\" tall, and 5\" wide at horn/ear. He stands on his own. There is some very minor wear, yet he is is Excellent Condition overall! No cracks or breaks. No notable damage.This Kachina, as you can see from the pics, displays extremely well and is a handsome and collectible piece of Native America.

The body is carved from a single piece of the traditional Cottonwood - a large tree that grows in washes and canyons where water is more HERE IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF A ZUNI KACHINA, A RAIN PRIEST FORM THE NORTH AKA . THIS KACHINA BRIGNSMOISTUREAND RAINS FROM THE NORTH TO THE PUEBLOS, HE IS AN IMPORTANT KACHINA TO ALL THE PUEBLOS AND NOT CARVED VERY carved and painted by a master ZUNI Kachina carver/maker -!!!
