The Lufkin Board and Log Rule Company of
Cleveland, Ohio, began making steel tape measures
in 1887 and moved to Saginaw, Mich., in 1892.

CONDITION
This rare antique rule is in very good condition.
Both the steel and the brass are very nice with minor
scratches and a couple tiny dents.
The brass winder works perfectly and snaps shut.
The steel rule pulls out and winds back perfectly.
It has been polished and all 100 ft of steel tape
has been wiped down with oil.
This old tape cleaned up nicely but does have some
stainingthat could possibly be removed.
See last photos for the 3 ¼ inch spliced section
that had to be done at the factory because if this
was a repair then there wouldn’t be the
extra to overlap themetal sections.
