This is a leaf of incunabulafrom the Flos theologiae sive Summa de abstinentia [Dictionariuspauperum] by Nicolaus de Byard (d. 1300) a mysterious & notedtheologian who taught in Paris & Oxford. There is also nocertain evidence whether he was a Franciscan or a Dominican. Also,the book itself is noted in both Hain & Goff as being combinedwith the Quaestiones Evangeliorum by Johannes de Turrecremataeven though only a few of the publicly held copies contain both.Johannes Amerbach printed it on September 28, 1481 in the SwissCity of Basel. The small folio leaf measures 285 x 200 mm. intotality and contains 47-lines of gothic type double column inLatin with red versal letters beginning each chapter.
