Here for your consideration is a very rare, 1898, sterling silver and gilt travelling clay pipe case, with hinged opening to reveal a silver gilt interior, fully hallmarked. Theworkmanshipin this rare travelling clay pipe case is absolutely exquisite, complete with original chain ring.

It\'s a truly stunning piece ofworkmanship, impressed at the front TCM and fully hallmarked, E.H.W for Edwin Henry Watts, the leopards head for London, lion passant with the date letter C for 1898. Considering thissilver pipe case is117 yearsold it\'s in fantastic original condition, with no splits, dents or repairs to the body.It does have some beautiful age related patina wear, commensurate with age, but considering this pipe case has been floating around for 117 years and been through a couple of World Wars, nothing unusual.
