Rare 18th Century Cannon Worm

Illustrated in numerous volumes on the Revolutionary War, the \"worm\" was an essential accompanyment to the artillery.

The piece would have been affixed to a long pole and used to remove obstructions from cannon barrels.

This example is all hand forged, blacksmith made.

Excellent overall condition on this original example, just the slightest of pitting.

As you can see in the images there is a hold placed in the shaft of the piece that would have allowed a nail to pass through it to further secure it in it\'s wooden pole.

Measures 9 1/4\" in length with a diameter of just about 3 3/4\".
