This is a wonderful German Bauhaus Luster Ware Porcelain Pitcher. It is marked Germany in a circle on the bottom. The design is hand painted in a crimson, blue, ivory, and black geometric pattern - very much like Mondrian. There is a decorative relief in the luster ware both at the rim and bottom of the pitcher. The overall form is superb and extremely modern for its day. The pitcher measures just over 6 inches tall by close to 7 from the edge of the handle to the edge of the spout. These ceramics are getting harder and harder to find. Especially in such fine condition. It has never been used. And has only been displayed behind glass for decades.
