A gorgeous and hard to find antique Royal Doulton Dickensware 6" handled tavern jug in very good condition decorated with The ArtfulDodger of Charles Dickens\' Oliver Twist. Part of the Dickens Ware series created by Charles Noke in the early 20th Century. Marked with the number D5175 which dates the design to the 1930s.

The Dickens Ware series was manufactured from 1911 through the early 1940\'s. Piece has an early mark. "The Artful Dodger" is hand-lettered.

Art work is lovely, with intricate details showing The Artful Dodger with his handkerchief hanging out, standing in the street. Soft colors and smooth, shiny glaze.

No chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. Surface is smooth and shiny.

A wonderful, rare find.
