Here'stheRare 1979KISS---GENE SIMMONSPlain AluminumDoubloon (Full Stamp onReverse atTop Variety)issued by the Krewe of Endymion. Theobversehas theEndymion Crest. Thereverse featuresthe Members of KISSand measures 39 mm or1 1/2" in diameter due within 48 hours of played at the 1979 Endymion Extravanganza following the Endymion Street Parade. These Special Kiss doubloons were made for and issued exclusively by the KISS band members during their performance at the '79 Extravangaza.These doubloons were issued in very limited numbers and are quite rare. There aretwo different varieties of theseKISS Plain aluminumdoubloons and their differences relate to the presenceof the Aucoin Stamp on the reverse of the doubloon. This doubloon is theStamp on Reverse atTopVariety because it hastheAucoin Stamp on its reverseinside the last S at the top.The 2010 Doubloon Guide lists this variety at $5.00.
