Rare circa 1863 original carte de visite of a Chinese woman. Photographed byFrench photographerEugene Maunoury, who operated in Peru in the CivilWar era, and who, according tothe back, was a correspondentof the notablephotographer Felix Nadar of Paris, whopublished the image.
On the back is written, \"John Chinaman\", however, I do believe it is a woman,possibly with bound feet.
4\" x 2.5\". A wonderful rare image in very good vintage condition, as shown.
Nice contrast. \"Mord\" is just on the scan.
