Estate Fresh, here we are offering a Wonderful Rare Antique 19th century Desk-Top, \"Improved Terrestrial Globe made and sold by Silas Cornell Rochester, NY\", as stated on side of globe. Silas Cornell (1789-1864) Quaker from Long Island. This once sat inside a calendar base in conjunction with astrological signs. The Globe has hand colored accents. It also has the shadow and small remains of a lifted paper label on bottom.

This Small Globe measures approx. 4½\" across the globe that stands 7½\" high on a 4½\" round, wooden base.

This is Pre-Owned a few times over in 150+ yrs of use and display and it is in VERY, VERY GOOD condition for its age. It has age discolor, wrinkles, cracks in the paper, with heavy peeling of top layer at north and south poles along with a few spots around the center of the globe. There are also scratches and scuffs. Those bright spots in my pictures, are just reflections of bright sunlight. The aged patina to the paper is uniform with a few darker spots but no faded spots. The base has wear to the finish with one spot on edge, that an opening in the grain comes through. There are NO chips, NO cracks, NO holes and NO restoration.
