On offer from our personal collection is this iconic 5 piece Liberty Tudric Pewter Archibald Knox Tea Service No.0231.

Archibald Knox designed the set in1902 for Liberty of London.

Please note that this is the most desirable un-hammered versionof the set.

The set comprises a tray(almost impossible to find), a teapot, a hot water jug, a creamer and a sugarbowl.

All pieces are in extremelygood condition considering their age with no signs of damage. They show little lossof definition to the wonderful, stylized foliage pattern. The tray has some light scratching.I believe the wrapping on the teapot is original and on the hot waterjug is a replacement. Of particular noteis that the bottoms of each piece sit perfectly on the sled feet. Bending of the bottom over the rails is aproblem sometimes seen in the set, caused over time by the weight of hotwater. These are perfect.

Though they are generallybright all pieces could do with a good polish to remove some age patina andshow them off to best advantage. As youcan see in the photo from page 198 of Stephen Martin’s book on Archibald Knoxand in his text, all pieces were originally sold in brightly polishedcondition.

Will make an excellent addition to anycollection of Art Nouveau/Archibald Knox.

All pieces are correctlymarked 0231 as shown. The creamer andsugar is a matching pair. Other pieceswere assembled individually.

A very difficult set to find in suchgood condition. But please note that they are over 110 years old and as suchwill show signs of age related use.Pleases ask for international shipping cost.
