Icon \"John the Baptist Angel of the Desert, with Life\".This is the oldest Russian Kholuy Iconof John the Baptist as the Angel of the desert, which is full of inner strength and spiritual power.The great prophet, standing on the edge of the Old and New Testaments, is depicted here in the tradition of late Byzantine iconography.Baptist is presented as a man-angel with angel wings in robes hermitOn the icon of St. John holds a scroll in his left hand, which dates back to the Gospel texts of John, sent as a precursor of Christ.
