0416Antique Imperial Russian Silver Art Nouveau Brooch In these uncertain times, it pays to invest in quality.
This is a rare Russian Art Nouveau brooch. Based on the hallmark,
this pin was made in Kostroma, Russia in the 1890's.
The artist's initials are IGR (from the Cyrillic ИГР).
This is an impressionist work, but the design elements are
derived from medieval Russia. Some people see a face,
while others see a ship, and others see something else.
The clasp is the old-style C-clasp, and the pin is sharp.
