Rare Antique 1896 William McKinley Presidential Political Cane/Walking Stick Up for offer is this rare 1896 William McKinley Campaign Cane from his 1896 campaign for President of the United States. The metal head has his Slogan “Protection” and the year 1896 embossed on his neck along with what appears to read \"Rec\'n Apl\'d for,\" although this is difficult to make out. Measuring approximately 35.5\" long, this cane is a fascinating piece of American political history. Condition:
There is some tarnishing, however, a pleasing patina regardless.
The wood portion of the cane has obvious aged tone (quite nice).
When shook (gently), there is a sound of something shaking inside; however, I see nothing missing from the metal head nor the wooden cane.
Structurally, the cane is intact and the head has no loosening from the cane.
There is some bowing of the wooden portion of the cane.
