This late 18th or possibly very early 19th century PA Dutch elbow spoon door latch and lock box comes from my own 40 year collection. Our very early 19th century Berks County PA Dutch stone home has these locks and we bought some extras for our house restoration. These lock boxes are only found in PA homes, mostly in Eastern PA, with a few in Central NJ right along the Delaware River. This one was made with with iron and constructed with iron pins whose securedends look like rosehead nails. It measures 6\" tall, 4 3/4\" wide and 1\" deep. There is a leather washer behind the front nut. It also comes with it\'s keeper which measures 4 5/8\" tall and 1 1/4\" wide. This is in good used working condition with the expected age appropriate wear which includes finish wear and very light surface rust in a few spots. It does not have it\'s key so it must be worked manually. These can be hard to find for your authentic restoration in a period home.
