Presenting here for your consideration is an especially nice example of a rare,antique Rollinson, 22\" long, all molded cloth, toddlerchild doll produced byGertrude Rollinson of Holyoke, Massachusetts, c1916-1929. She is a lovely version with a sateen covered, clothtorso, arms and legs with stitched joints at the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees as well as individually shaped fingers and toes. She has a heavily painted head with applied ears, shortlight brown, painted hair, molded closedmouth and gorgeous, bigblue painted eyes with fine highlighting details, long eyelashes and eyebrows. She wears her original antique baby dress with many finely sewn pleats, tucksand lace details, antique crocheted baby capandantique white, frailleather baby shoes and white knit stockings. She is in extremely good condition with all her fingers and toes, original sateen body covering, no damages, tearsor holes although some of her cheek blush is worn and she may have had some slight touch up years ago to the paint of her eyes (normal for a doll of this age). She has no stains or fading (some paint flaking on arms and legs)and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. Rollinson dolls bear a striking resemblance to those of Martha Chase and are extremely difficult to find.See last photos for comparisons (finer molding of forehead, hands & toes, larger eyes, flatter cheeks, lighter hair paint, etc.)(loc D) Her companion doll friends are not included and will each be listed separately.
