Very Rare Antique Edwardian Indian IslamicSolid Silver Cruet Set; Kutch c1905
It comprises 6 pieces in all; a leaf shaped tray with a carrying handle, a mustard pot and spoon, a pepperette and a salt cellar with spoon.
The pieces are all hand made, quite naively from lower grade Indian silver and feature all over hand chased and repousse work of scrollwork and flowers, typical of late Victorian / Edwardian Kutch silversmiths. The spoons feature Edwardian 2 annas silver coins as bowls and naive but well cast bird finials.
Beautifully proportioned, to give an indication of size, the leaf shaped tray is 6 inches long or 15cm.
The total weight is an impressive 217g or 7.7oz.
