This truly rare charger has a single reeded rim and is by a very hard to find maker. I have only sold one pewter charger by Ricnard Going, back in 2003 for $375. The remnants of a crown mark and a maker's mark are on one side of the back On the other side there is an impressed mark that reads "RICHARD GOING", are all that can be read of any mark on the back. This is a mark utilized by Richard Going who worked out of Birmingham from 1715 through 1766. Richard Going died in 1766. This mark is listed in "OLD PEWTER IT'S MAKERS AND MARKS" by Cotterell. page 260, #1909. Very nice English pewter charger from the first part of the eighteenth century. This is a very early example of a pewter charger by a hard to find early maker, offered with the opening offer the only reserve and a "Buy It Now".
