This is a rare and hard to find very large sized pewter measure with a pot bellied shaped body and applied handle one side. I have sold pewter for more than 35 years and came across my first half gallon measure about a couple of months ago and now here is my second! It has an impressed script mark off the rim that reads, \"Half Gallon\". This is the only mark on this rare item. It has no registry verification marks on this measure. This measure probably dates from the middle of the 19th Century. Very clean example of a rare sized Antique pewter measure offered here with .

SIZE: The measure is 7 1/2\" H. x 5 1/8\" Dia. at the top and 5 3/4\" Dia at the bottom.
CONDITION: The condition is very good to excellent with some very minor denting and scratching, but no damage.
