A very rare example of a WW1 era Fairbanks Recruiting office scale. This scale is constructed of cast iron, sheet steel, brass, and oak. It is complete as far as I know, including its cast iron lock and all of its handles, and seems to be very accurate, checking it against my modern bathroom scale. This scale displays beautifully, with its heavy oak, black iron and bright brass work. It would not be out of place in the best museums. It has been in my WW1 militaria collection for several years, but I have been forced to downsize on some of my larger items. These scales are very rare, I have seen them crop up once in a blue moon, but really they are one of the rarer Fairbanks models, plus, most of them likely did not survive the scrap drives of the Second World War. Do not miss this opportunity to own a rare and beautiful piece of history. Local pickup is more than welcome, otherwise it will need to be freighted to the buyer.
