BATON ROUGE/NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA ESTATE
THAT I ACQUIRED SEVERAL YEARS AGO-
ALL OF THE BUTTONS IN THIS COLLECTION WERE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION,
AND SPANNED A TIME PERIOD FROM
BEFORE THE ORIGINAL COLLECTOR WAS BORN IN 1850,
(SOME ARE AS OLD AS THE LATE 18th CENTURY)
THROUGH THE 1930\'S***
THIS IS A LOVELY LATE 19th CENTURY ENGLISH BUTTON THAT IS OFF OF A TATTY OLDTHREADBARE WOOLEN HERRINGBONE HUNTING WESKIT/WAISTCOAT(the vest/weskit was listed in the above collection as being from the 1880\'s, so too must this sweet little button be)-IT IS MADE OF TURNED IVORY OR TAGUA NUT IN A CUP SHAPE AND FEATURES A RARE BUFF IVORY COLORED CHINA BALL JEWEL IN THE CENTER-IT MEASURES A HAIR UNDER 3/8\" IN DIAMETER WITH A BRASS LOOP SHANK IN BACK AND IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NOT SO MUCH AS A SCUFF ON IT---
