Rare Antique German Porcelain Group Figure Dresden Sitzendorf Figural Figurine For Sale
c1900 Rare German Porcelain Grouping (Serious buyers Only!)Rare! Large German porcelain grouping by fireplace! I have never seen this group before, and I've been dealing with German/Dresden figurals for 15yrs! Never have I seen this colorful and detailed model! The scene is set amongst a cozy fancy room with large fireplace with decorative centerpiece and urns. One woman is seated reading a book, a gentleman is standing next to her and speaking. Secretively, he is taking a letter from the woman seated on the other side of the fireplace, from behind his back. The woman giving the gentleman the letter, unfortunately has her one arm broken off, along with the handle to the mandolin she's holding. The only other flaw is the lid to the centerpiece on the mantle has been reglued, but this is minor and not noticed. The woman could be restored, and the piece would be perfect! There is no makers mark, but the piece looks to be Sitzendorf or possibly Unterweissbach. The piece is very large, measuring a whooping 15" across by 9" wide and 12" tall!
