Rare Antique Gold and Silver Jeton by Faberge workmaster Eduard Schramm 1908-17:

Rare antique Russian jeton for the Blue Cross Society by Faberge workmaster Eduard Schramm and made of gold, silver and enamel.

The lozenge shaped badge has a detailed gold Fireman\'s helmet on the observe along with an enamel blue cross and inscribed in Russian \'Blue Cross Society\'. On the reverse are the workmaster initals of Eduard Schramm and the 84 standard along with the mark for St Petersburg and right facing kokoshnik for 1908-17.

The National Society of Aid for Firemen, the Blue Cross Society, was set up in 1897 in St Petersburg to help firemen and their families after death or injury during active service. Jetons were usually worn on the end of watch chains.
