Rare Antique Goldscheider Rudolph - Rudolf - Podany Dancer - Signed For Sale
Bought at sale
because I found her to be beautiful expressive and graceful. I have done what research I can, however, it
is in a language I am not familiar with so I will explain as best I can. From what I did find in English, she is a
1917 dancing lady or is referred to as, “Tanzerin.”
I believe her title is, “Adore via
Villany.” She stands 12 ½ inches
and is inscribed, “Podany” in script on the back of her base. I show the marks on her base also. Please refer to the pictures below. She has a tiny loss of color on her right
foot big toe – not an actual loss – and a tiny loss of color on two
her left hand – also not chips. Also,
the draped cloth hanging from the left hand looks a little iffy to me,
because of the oil spot color technique used on her, it’s hard to tell. I do show her with a black light.
I will allow the experts out there to
determine her value.
