Beautiful and Rare Antique IraqiSolid Silver and Niello 4 piece tea set. c1925.

Comprising a tea pot, milk jug, sugar bowl and sugar tongs.

Very skillfully hand made near Amarah, southern Iraq by skilled Mandean silversmiths and in excellent, gleaming condition inside and out.

It features fine quality, intricate niello work depicting Grand Mosques, a plethora of sailing boats and other archaic vessels sailing on the river euphrates, date palms, reed beds and the ancient Persian ruins at Ctesiphon.

It\'s tactile and beautifully proportioned. Weighs and dimensions are as follows;

tea pot is 455g or a pound in weight with a length from handle to spout of 222mm.

milk jug is 145g or 5.1oz with an overall height of 128mm.

sugar bowl is 107g or 3.8oz with a belly diameter of 81mm.

sugar tongs are 20g and are 118mm long.
