Kid leather jointed body bisque model 167 size 14
This sale is for a 32”, 81cm antique bisque doll by Kling. This doll was given to my Great Grandmother at the age of 6 in 1904.
Bisque shoulder head, glass eyes, painted facial features, open mouth, four teeth, brown real hair, kid leather body, pin-jointed body, with bisque forearms. The life like details on the head and face are in very good condition.
Dressed in 2 layers undergarments, and dress with bonnet, with leather shoes and stockings. There is an additional handmade dress.
Condition: generally excellent, hands scuffed. One shoe is missing a buckle and on one hand, a finger is broken. The clothing is not perfect, but in really good condition given the age. Refurbished in 2014 at Nurse Nancy’s Doll Hospital, Suquamish WA.
Marks: 167 (bell symbol) K 14. Kling,circa 1880’s – 1890’s.
Founded by Christian Friedrich Kling in Ohrdruf, Thuringia, Germany as a porcelain factory, C. F. Kling & Company did not begin making dolls until around 1870.
