Rare Antique Professional French Silver Plated G. Marchioni Flute #2285 c.1900This rare instrument was carefully handmade at the turn of the century by Georges Marchioni in his shop from Paris. He was a pupil of Auguste Bonneville, the famous flute French maker. In 1893 G. Marchioni decided to create his own shop at 27, rue d\'Angoulême, in the same Paris district. There he started to handcraft these beautiful instruments. Rapidly, his flutes gained an excellent reputation. Quality was so high he got a bronze medal at the \"Exposition Universelle Internationale de Paris\" in 1900 (please see pic – medal not included in the sale).Excellent original condition. Plays from top to bottom with a beautiful and clear sound on its old pads, probably original. Some air leaks in the lower notes. Mechanics shows very little wear and plays fluently. No visible dings. Original case in excellent condition. Obviously, this great flute has played only a few years at the beginning of her life, then stored safely in a dry closet until now. Very rich and singing sound in Louis Lot spirit, typical of the French Flute Golden Age. Please admire the perfect oval cut of the embouchure!
