This is an exceptional antique 18thc original English seaweed marquetry longcase clock by Phill Avenell Of Farnham. I have seen a few marquetry longcase clocks in my time but i have to say this one is an absolutely stunning looking top quality one which would be a talking point of any roomThe case has a carved flat top designed hood with beautifully carved pillars to the front and back. The case has a stunning look to it with a 10 inch square brass dial and a full length trunk door with a glass pendulum viewing window in the trunk doorThe seaweed marquetry case has an absolutely stunning patina and colour to it which is acquired through age. Looks absolutely amazing as i am sure you would agree from the pics and the quality is absolutely second to noneThe whole front of the case has the fantastic high quality seaweed marquetry inlay which is just incredible, the detail is so finely designed and all is 100% complete and in excellent original condition with only the usual minimal discrepencies which adds to its character. Please take a good look at the pictures to really take in the quality of itThe case is in exceptional condition for age and looks absolutely stunning wherever it is displayedThe clock benefits from its original 10 inch squared brass dial with a silvered chapter ring which has engraved roman numerals. To the centre of the dial their are 3 engraved hoho bird designs which are all in excellent condition and to each corner their is a pierced brass spandrel which are all matching. The dial has a silvered plaque to the centre which is signed by the maker Phill Avenell of Farnham who is a very well recorded clock makerThe clock benefits from its original super high quality brass 8 day bell striking movement which is driven by its 2 lead weights and brass pendulumThe movement is in excellent working order and keeps extremely good time as expected from a high quality 18th century longcase. This is an exceptional antique early 18thc queen anne original English seaweed marquetry longcase clock by Phill Avenell Of Farnham. The case has a carved flat top designed hood with beautifully barley twist pillars to the front and back of the hood. The case has a stunning look to it with a 10 inch square brass dial and a full length trunk door with a glass pendulum viewing window in the trunk door

The seaweed marquetry case has an absolutely stunning patina and colour to it which is acquired through age with various veneers including sycamore side veneers, rosewood floral and other exoctic woods which were all typical in the period of Queen Anne 1702-1714. Looks absolutely amazing as i am sure you would agree from the pics and the quality is absolutely second to none

The whole front of the case has the fantastic high quality seaweed marquetry inlay which is just incredible very finely done, the detail is so finely designed and all is 100% complete and in excellent original condition with only the usual minimal discrepencies which adds to its character.
