Hand painted porcelain figure group titled “The Two Sisters” by Rosenthal. This group was designed by Hugo Meisel (1887-1966) and was created c 1937.

Meisel was a German artist who was born in Lichte in 1887 and worked for a number of porcelain makers, including Rosenthal, Volkstedt, Heubach and Schwarzberger.

Meisel worked for Rosenthal in the 1936-37 period designing a number of detailed figures and figure groups.

Figurine measures 11 inches tall and 9 wide.
