A most unusual Bactrian stone vessel made of blue chlorite and incised all over with a chequer board pattern. The top has been pierced for suspension or perhaps to secure a lid. Probably used for cosmetics such as kohl. Bactria, 2nd millennium BC10cms In good condition with minor chips on top and bottom. No cracks. Ex Senatus Consulto, Denmark, previously in an old Danish collection. I will provide my usual COA with a lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
