DESCRIPTION: Fine quality and easily the best graphically produced and when held are spectacular to behold. Rare un-used near mint original tinted postcard of President Chester A. Arthur. our 21st President, inaugurated 1881. Made by The Hugh C. Leighton Co. (in business from 1904-1909 out of Portland, ME) this is their card number 26063. It measures 3 1/2\" X 5 1/2\" and has NO bends or writing. Their Presidential series appears to be very rare and I am listing 12 different ones and can combine to save you shipping costs.　A printer and major publisher of national view-cards, especially scenes of New England. They printed most of their cards in four distinct styles usually employing tinted halftones. Most of their cards had a subdued but recognizable pallet. While some cards were printed at their plant in the U.S. most were manufactured in Frankfort, Germany. Almost all their cards were numbered. They merged with Valentine & Sons in 1909.

PLEASE NOTE & WORTH READING: I charge $4.50 for shipping in USA first class because that is roughly what it cost me (I do not make anything on shipping or handling and only charge what the post office quotes me). I put cards/photos/paper items in plastic bags, between two pieces of heavy cardstock to help prevent bending and write on larger manila envelope on both side \"Please Do Not Bend\". Because it is stiff, the post office charges more and insurance is an extra $1.70 per $100.00 value (I require insurance on any item sold because if something should happen to that item after it leaves my hands, will take the money back from me and give it to the buyer. It NEVER comes out of their pockets, just mine). With that being said and under the following conditions, I will ship in a plain white envelope with no stiffener and no insurance and no tracking for $1.00, if you give me your word (your word is good enough for me) that you will not file a claim or complaint with or paypal should the item never arrive or arrive damaged and not leave me a negative response should either of those happen.

Packing: When shipping paper items, they are protected by plastic bag and placed between 2 pieces of cardstock and placed inside a priority mail flat rate or a manila envelope. Additionally, a note saying \"Please Do Not Bend\" is written in marker on the envelope. All items that are boxed go individually in plastic bags, are wrapped in newspaper or bubble wrap with newspaper or bubble wrap packing all around in stiff cardboard boxes.
