For sale this week is a rare Canadian load bearing vest, often called a battle jacket or a \"jean vest\", developed expediently in 2002 for Canadian troops in CADPAT AR camouFlage deploying to Afghanistan in the wake of Operation Apollo, when it came to public light that combat troops were sent to the arid Environment in unsuitable green CADPAT uniforms and equipment. The vest was not popular and quickly replaced with more modern web gear, and very few were made, making it a rare collectible.

The vest is based on the so-called \"Bosnia vest\", which was fielded in the 1990s for combat engineers deployed as part of SFOR. The vest is quite large and has a lot of storage capacity, including four C7 magazines, numerous universal pouches, a C7 bayonet scabbard, slip-on for rank insignia, back pouch, waist cinch, numerous loops and hooks as well as two internal pouches for ceramic armour plates - providing ballistic protection near the hear and on the back - a most unusual vest.

The vest is in like-new condition, with no damage, repairs or fading - it appears unused with the exception of a name hand-written in one of the labels. The maker label is present, giving a production date of 2003, made by Fellfab in Canada. Size is XX Large but it\'s a universal fit.
