Rare Collection of WW2 USN Identified US Navy CPO Uniforms Tunic Hat Covers Lot:
$339.95

You are buying a truly unique estate find featuring items from a World War Two soldier named Charles Campion Whitton. Whitton served in the U.S. Navy from April 16, 1926 to April 2, 1948. During WW2 he served on the USS Erie and the USS Chester. He participated in the bombardment and operating defense of Tarawa Atoll in the Gilbert Islands in November of 1943. Included in this collection are 2 service coats with insignia. The gray coat is monogrammed and comes from Kroskin\'s of Norfolk, Va. All of thedetachablebuttons are missing except for one. It has a loose pocket hem and some small holes on the shoulder area. The wool blue coat comes from Schulman & Co. of Norfolk, Va. It has all of its buttons and has a large area of stains or what looks like to me iron heat marks. Blue trousers also come with the coat which makes a nice uniform display. A white summers cotton uniform is included and probably shows the most wear. The white trousers have part of the bottom leg missing. Stains and small holes also adorn this tattered pair of Navy pants. The interior label reads \"Service Center Honolulu. T.M.\". The (Spear, Troy Tailored) white shirt has a multitude of stains and missing the cuff buttons. The white Tunic coat is in about the same condition and has no buttons. The label on this coat reads \"La Mascota, Samuel friedman, Inc. Three hat covers are also included, two are white and one is khaki in color. All 3 has stains as well. A few linen collars are with this collection. Three of the collars are used and seven are still in the original packaging. Most of the white uniforms have Whitton stenciled on them somewhere and the pants have \"Holt\" stenciled on the interior. All pieces of clothing seem to be a size small. Even with the condition issues, this is just an amazing set of multiple items from one individual. These are not just surplus items, they have actually seen action in WW2! The greatest generation sadly are dwindling but we keep their memory alive by cherishing thesetangible reminders of their dedication to defeating evil empires. Thanks for looking.(J2)
