VERY RARE

A superb George 3rd combination vinaigrette / snuff box

Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1813

The maker is William Pugh

it has the date letter P, the anchor for Birmingham, the monarchs head and the maker\'s mark WP

It measures 4cms x 2.7cms x 1.3cms

The foliate grill of the vinaigrette is excellent with a secure hinge and fits perfectly within the box.

The hinges of both boxes are perfect & they closes well

The insides are nicely gilded.

It has a monogrammed cartouche,

beneath which is engraved July 2nd 1857

on the front side is engraved \"in memory of \"

There are 3 very tiny dints around 3 sides and a minute split of 1mmin the front of the snuff box side (see photo\'s 2 & 8 --very magnified)- all hardly noticeable.

For a box that is over 200 years old the condition is extremely good

Thiswould make avery specialaddition to a collection of these interesting and fascinating little boxes of a bygone era

It is a heavy weight of 32.4 gms
