Up for sale I have A very rare Pre WW1 Colt 1911 U.S. Navy Pistol Slide. Navy Marked Slides are very rare as only approx 16,000 were marked with the U.S. Navy Mark with this only being done until early 1915. After that all slides sent to the Navy were roll marked US Army. This Slide is in extremely good condition for being a Navy Slide as most display pitting from the coorosive sea salted Air and Water but please view photos for condition as the pictures serve as the best description of the item I\'m selling. I have had about a dozen requests for a \"Buy it Now\' price so I felt I needed to add this to the description. This sale will run to the end and the high buyer will win the item. I have an abnormally high number of watchers and feel their are several people who need this slide to complete a high dollar navy pistol so I would like to give everyone a fair chance. This is a very rare item in above average condition with no pitting and in my opinion 80% beautiful Colt Fine blue finish remaining which is unheard of for a navy because of the conditions they were used in. If one would have a frame in the same conditionto match the slide you are probably talking about a $6000-$8000 gun and that is a conservative number given recent prices. I havebeen told by another user the rear sight isn\'t correct and should be of the rounded corner variety and I wanted to state that as well. I do know where to obtain an early rounded rear sight for a reasonable priceand I will give the winning buyer the contact information if he\\she so desires. The top of the slide near the front and rear sights has dings and wear as shown in the pictures so as stated in the description please review all pictures carefullyas they serve as the most accurate description.
