Title: Rare Huge Carved Fine Amethyst Cameo Diamond Platinum Top 14k Gold Pin Brooch

Description: Here we have an extremely rare find & rare treat with this antique cameo pin that is actually hand carved in a huge 30ct+ amethyst gemstone! The exquisite hand crafted setting is made with a platinum top over a 14k yellow gold bottom as was common for the period. A unique carved onyx frame surrounds the lovely image of the Greco-Roman goddess & four small, very fine old Euro diamonds accent the setting at the north-south-east-west positions. This is breathtaking in person, I hope the pics do it justice!

Due to the rarity of this our sale estimates for this are from $2500 to $3000, yet our reserve is under $1200.

Manufacture method: Fabricated, hand set, hand assembled

Approx. Size or length: Measures 1-1/2 inch X 1-1/4 inch

Condition: Seen only with 10x magnification the amethyst shows a couple of very minute abrasions around the table facet – nothing serious. All stones are intact and look fine. The setting shows only some light surface wear that a quick buff from a jeweler would remedy. The pin bar hinge & catch work properly. I\'d call this ready to wear.
