Up for sale is this rare antique Emerson & Silver M1840 Civil War NCO sword. The Model 1840 NCO sword was carried by sergeants during many conflicts including the Mexican-American War, the Civil War and the Spanish-American War. The sword measures a long 38\" from tip to pommel. The actual blade length is 31 3/4\". This sword is stamped on one side of the ricasso \"Emerson & Silver Trenton, N.J.\" and \"U.S. D.F.M. 1863\" on the other side. It is also stamped on the knucklebow with the initials of the inspector \"D.F.M.\" It has a single edge blade. It does not include a scabbard.

The CONDITION of this sword is VERY GOOD. The blade is somewhat warped and has a few nicks. Otherwise, this sword is a fine example of one of our fighting forces most cherished weapons. I am pleased to be offering thissword with a very LOW starting price and ~
