Rare Fine Antique Chinese Qing Wucai Wanli Mark Porcelain Covered Dragon Box.
Fine rectangular covered box decorated with hand painted underglaze blue and overglaze enamels.
Dragon and phoenix on the lid and alternating dragon and phoenix on the sides.
All set amidst clouds and with central flaming pearl on the lid.
Date Qing period (1644-1912), with apocryphal Ming Wanli Mark.

Condition report:
Measures approx. 10.9 cm (4 3/8\") by 7.3 cm (3\") and 6 cm (2 1/3\") high. Weight 498 gr.
Condition is good, some signs of wear and/or use commensurate with age.
A chip on the base inner rim.

Provenance:
Since 19thC in the collection of Alexander Mc Lauchan Duncan and thence by descent.
Alexander Mc Lauchan Duncan was a 19thC Scottish ship owner and employed by the Chinese Maritime Customs in Shanghai.
