Rare French AntiqueTrinket/jJewelry Beveled Glass & Brass Box – 1900 World’s Fair Paris

One of the rarest trinket boxes issued, this one has a colored pictureof the ‘Grande Roue Paris’ the GreatWheel that was installed for the 1900 World’s Fair near the Tour Eiffel and thePlace du Trocadero.

It is a rectangular box, measuring 3 3/8 inches wide, 2 ½ inchesdeep and stands 2 7/8 inches on four little brass feet.

The box is in overall very good condition with one tiny chip onthe bottom side frame, made when the frame was tightened.

The interior silkcushion is the original one and the top of it is threadbare.

It still has theoriginal four little silk covered buttons in it.

The hinge works well and the clasp closes tightly. The feet arewell attached.

These little boxes were memorabilia for the 1900 Paris World’sFair and only made for a year.

They rarely come up for sale now sincecollectors tend to hoard them.
